Meowkids Privacy Policy
1. Who we are and what this Policy covers
Meowkids is operated by sole proprietor Marat Khanbekov, registered in the Republic of Armenia (“Meowkids”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here.
This Policy covers the Meowkids website, mobile apps, adult accounts, subscriptions, educational games and support (together, the “Service”).
2. What data we process
Depending on how you use Meowkids, we process:
- Adult account data: email, password in hashed form, optional display name, language, internal account ID and records of accepted legal-document versions. We do not see your password.
- Subscription data: plan, status, purchase channel, dates, price and currency, transaction or receipt IDs, and limited payment-method information such as a token, card brand and last four digits. We do not receive or store full card details.
- App profile data: a child nickname and broad age range may be stored locally in the app. They are not uploaded to our servers or analytics providers.
- App and website activity: a random app or account ID, screens and games used, game completion and progress events, session timing, app version, language, device category, operating system, browser and basic diagnostic events. Activity from the child-facing part may be included. We do not collect photos, audio, contacts, precise location or advertising IDs for this purpose.
- Support and communications: messages and other information an adult sends to us, including through our support form, and newsletter preferences.
- Cookies and local storage: login, security, language and privacy choices, plus website analytics only when you allow it.
We do not intentionally store IP addresses in Meowkids account or product databases. Like any internet service, hosting and analytics providers may technically receive an IP address when a device connects to them. They may use it briefly for routing, security or coarse region information under their own retention controls.
3. Why we use data
- to create and secure adult accounts and provide the Service;
- to verify, activate and synchronize subscription access;
- to remember settings and provide customer support;
- to understand which games and features work well, fix problems and improve Meowkids;
- to prevent fraud and misuse and enforce our Terms;
- to keep accounting, consent and transaction records required by law; and
- to send optional learning materials and offers when an adult has chosen to receive them.
4. Legal bases
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our contract for accounts and subscriptions; our legitimate interests in security, support and product improvement; consent for optional website analytics and marketing; and legal obligations for accounting and lawful requests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
5. Who receives data
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose only what is needed to operate the Service:
- Adapty: the adult email is used as a customer ID, together with subscription status and store transaction data, to connect one subscription to the same adult account across devices and purchase channels and to provide subscription analytics.
- Apple App Store, Google Play and RuStore:purchases, renewal, refunds and payment processing. They handle payment credentials under their own notices.
- Google Analytics and Amplitude: limited website or app usage and technical events for product analytics. Google Analytics runs only after website consent. These services are not used by us for personalized advertising.
- Brevo and Google Forms: adult email communications and support requests.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: storage, delivery, database and security operations in countries including the United States and Russia.
- advisers, authorities or a business successor where required by law or necessary to protect rights, users and the Service.
Providers act for the limited service they supply to us, or as an independent controller where their own terms say so.
6. Product analytics and no advertising tracking
We use analytics to see aggregated trends and understand game and feature usage. Events may be linked to a random internal ID and, after an adult signs in, to that adult account so access and product usage work consistently across devices. We do not send a child nickname to analytics.
We do not use advertising IDs, track users across unrelated apps or websites, build advertising profiles, or show personalized ads. If these practices change, we will update this Policy and obtain any consent required by law before the change applies.
7. Website cookies
Necessary cookies and local storage support login, security, language and your privacy choice. Google Analytics is optional and does not load until you select “Allow analytics”. Advertising storage and Google Signals are disabled.
Select “Cookie settings” on the website to change your choice at any time. Refusing analytics does not limit the core Service.
8. How long we keep data
Account data is kept while the account is active. If the account is inactive, we may keep it for up to five years after the last activity, unless you request deletion sooner. Transaction, consent and support records may be kept for up to five years, or longer where law requires.
Detailed analytics and routine technical data are kept for the shorter periods configured in our providers and are then deleted or aggregated. Information no longer linked to a person may be kept for product statistics. Deletion from backups follows the normal backup rotation.
9. International processing
Our frontend may be hosted in the United States, while account and backend databases are hosted in Russia. Other providers may process data in Armenia, the EEA, the United States and other countries. Where required, we use contractual or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.
10. Your rights and account deletion
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your data, object to certain uses, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. We may verify that a request relates to your account and apply legal exceptions.
Request account deletion from your account profile or at our deletion page — deletion happens immediately once you confirm, with no waiting period and no need to contact support. If you cannot sign in, email info@meowkids.app and we will verify your account manually. We will also remove data from relevant providers, including the Adapty profile, unless a record must be retained by law. Deleting an account does not itself cancel a subscription: cancel it first through the channel where it was purchased.
Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. Website analytics consent can be changed through “Cookie settings”.
11. Children’s privacy
Meowkids is designed for children aged 2–5, but accounts, purchases, login and support are for adults and are placed behind an adult gate. A parent, guardian, teacher or other authorized adult decides whether a child may use the app and is responsible for supervision.
Children do not create accounts or communicate with us. A nickname and age range stay on the device. The app may send a random identifier and gameplay events solely to operate, understand and improve Meowkids. We do not use this information for advertising or contact, and do not ask children for more information than is reasonably needed.
If you believe a child’s personal data reached us without appropriate adult involvement, contact us and we will investigate and delete it where required.
12. Additional information for US residents
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children. US state residents may exercise applicable access, correction, deletion and portability rights by contacting us.
For child users under 13, we limit online identifiers and gameplay events to supporting internal operations such as providing content, maintaining security, measuring use and improving the child-directed Service. An adult may review or request deletion of information linked to their account at any time.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including hashed passwords and access controls. No online service can promise absolute security. Please use a unique password and tell us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the Service, providers or law changes. We will post the new version and date here and provide additional notice or seek consent when required for a material change.
